LOGISTICS

Visa

All visitors to Rwanda are eligible for a 30-day visa-on-arrival without prior application. You will need to pay a $30 visa fee on arrival. We recommend that you have this amount in USD. You do not have to apply for a visa beforehand, you will get one once you arrive at the airport in Kigali. Please visit the Rwanda Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration’s website for more details.

Airport Transfer

The most convenient way to get from the airport to your accommodation is to arrange for a taxi through your hotel (if staying in a hotel) or to take one of the taxis available at the airport. Please note that taxis in Rwanda generally only accept cash payments (in the local currency of Rwandan Francs). It should cost RWF 10,000 - 20,000 (USD 12-25) to get from the airport to most parts of Kigali.

Accommodation

We have negotiated reduced rates with the hotels shown below. In addition to these hotels, Airbnb can be a good and cost-effective accommodation option in Kigali.
